TurrrboCherry- the FinnishTURRRBO-power burlesque showgirl!

TurrrboCherry has been performing since day one of the Finnish Burlesque scene, making her one of the pioneers in the country. She is the other half of burlesque performer & -producer duo The Ravishing Shangri-La Rubies (running, among other events, the quirky and glitter-drenched Rubies Klubit burlesque club), co-owner and founder of The Shangri-La School of Showgirls -the first actual burlesque school in Finland- together with Tinker Bell and also one of the original founding members of Finland's probably best known burlesque troupe The Itty-Bitty Tease Cabaret.  During her decade long career of burlesque TurrboCherry has traveled both the small and big stages of her home country as well as around Europe, and collaborated with several bands and artist for a vide variety of shows and creative performances. Well known for both her energetic stage charisma and positive burlesque teaching, she is a true powerhouse of burlesque in Finland!

 

Burlesque has during the years developed in to TurrrboCherry's main profession, but she is also a passionate classical pilates mat work instructor, licensed by Peak Pilates, giving classes at her studio.  Back in the days Cherry studied and graduated in graphic design (and she will still do a poster or two if asked). She also worked  outdoors with cargo in the harbour, loading ships, for more than a decade, a time that would in fact at one point create the name TurrrboCherry.

 

Cherry has, both as part of The Itty-Bitty Tease Cabaret and as a solo performer travelled all around the country and has been seen on several stages abroad as well, including such as The Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas 2011, Berlin Burlesque Festival, The London Burlesque Festvial, Milan Burlelque Awards, Bohemian Burlesque Festival, Boylesque Festival Vienna to name a few.

 

TurrrboCherry has been featured in several magazines, talk shows and TV-programmes such as HBL, Trendi, FIT, Vauva-lehti, KaksPlus, Avotakka, Glorian Koti, Koti & Keittiö, Mood, Radio X3M, Radio Vega, Yle : Puoli Seitsemän, Kioski, Yle Teema:  Rock Suomi, Iskelmä Suomi, Yle5: Pixel, TV-Nytt, Strömsö, Lilla Onsdag, Efter Nio, Min Morgon and many more. As of spring 2018 Cherry stars in Yle's series Vintage Valtakunta.
